​​RIACT Press is a new project, still in its early stages. It is being developed in response to a growing need for a publishing company that understands the work of clinicians and the practical demands of clinical writing.

Traditional publishers are often driven by the volume of books they can sell. Our primary interest is different: whether a book can be meaningfully used in clinical practice, supervision, education, or training. These are two very different outcomes, and they shape everything from how a manuscript is reviewed to how it is developed and brought into print.

We are also working to create a more responsive publishing process. Our hope is to reduce unnecessary delays while preserving thoughtful peer review and strong editorial support. Authors may retain up to 70 percent of the revenue from their book sales. This model may require a greater investment from the author at the beginning, though it also allows the author to retain considerably more over the life of the book.

When appropriate, RIACT Press may help cover some of the initial costs associated with development, editorial services, design, or printing. Each agreement is created around the needs of the author, the manuscript, and the project. Since no two books follow exactly the same path, no two publishing agreements need to look exactly the same.
